Taking Care of Your Lash Extensions

Its been quite a while since I have written anything. Business has been growing well and has been keeping me on my toes. Many of my clients ask how to take care of their lashes to allow them to last longer and look great. Many factors play a key in how long your lash extensions lash before a touchup lifestyle, sleep, cleaning and simply just your natural skin reactions.

First step in taking care of your lashes is to wait 24 to 48 hours before wetting them. Once your lashes have been applied wait 1 to 2 days. Stay away from the steam room and sanaus as well. Once you have completed the waiting period you may wash your lashes and even enter the steam room.

Also, use a sealant. A great eyelash sealant provides a protective barrier to protect against the elements that break down the adhesive. Sealant not only gives the extensions a maximum bond but also keeps the extensions moisturized, glossy, clean and beautifully groomed. For best results, use this sealant daily to extend the life of your eyelash extensions.

Dont forget to cross check any medications and eyedrops. Many eyedrops can cause an adverse reaction with the glue and sealant causing multiple complications including clumping or loss of lashes.

Use a water base mascara. Do not use oil or waterproof mascara this will breakdown and destroy the glue.

Use an oil free makeup remover. The glue used in lash extensions is oil base so using other oil based products will break down the glue causing your lashes to come off sooner than later.

Brush and dry your lashes. When leaving the shower you can use your blow drying on a cool setting to dry your lashes. Simply hold the drying below your nose and blow your lashes up. This will allow your lashes to dry in the correction direction reducing the crisscossing of lashes.

See your lash stylist every 2 to 3 weeks. This will keep your lashes full and complete.

Moving Forward

So had an unexpected very slow Saturday today. Everyone tells me that business is slow in the summer but what I have experienced I did not expect. I was able to update my website today and ad a mobile device feature. So...now you can view my web page from your mobile device with ease. Check it out when you get a chance designsbychrista.net

I also set a small Google ad words account due to some free credits I got. Interested in seeing how it turns out. I set my budget at $25/day for 3 days.

I have never used Facebook advertising but I do have a few credits to advertise with them as well. So will be trying that out to see how it goes.

I know once the word is out there and as long as we continue to give quality work my business will flourish. I did a ladies hair the other day who said she was charged $400 to have tape extensions applied. She advised me they only last 1 month. I could not imagine. To me extensions should be affordable to the point you are able to continue to get them done on a regular basis.

Well I will be updating you on my advertising endeavors. I do have a great strategy I will be trying out this week. I do not want to share what it is at this point but I will update you on my progress.

State board testing 6/23 and 6/25. Excited, anxious and  nervous to take the tests. Wish me luck.

Hello,

My Name is Christa. I just recently finished esthetician school last Friday. I will be taking state boards on 6/25/12. I am excited as I take this Journey of opening a salon/spa, building clientele, offering new and trendy services, and much more.

I believe in taking my time with each client to ensure satisfaction. I will always continue my education to give you the best most up to date techniques.

I just recently starting renting a small space in old town scottsdale. Where I plan to expand my lash extension services while also adding waxings, lash and brow tinting among other services.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you and will enjoy and all all feed back you have for me.
